Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Luciana moved to the United States 11 years ago to pursue a Masters Degree in Bilingual Education. Working as a high school teacher in Connecticut for the past 10 years, fitness has always played a major role in her life. A natural athlete, Luciana took dance classes and played various sports, including volleyball and track, throughout her childhood and teenage years.
After having her two children left her feeling unattractive and out of shape, Luciana rededicated herself in the gym and discovered a new passion for weight training that has helped her transform her body into what it is today. Her newfound physique led to fitness competitions and modeling, as well as a desire to learn everything she could about exercise and nutrition. With supersets, a high-protein diet, and BSN® supplementation, Luciana managed to add quite a bit of muscle and sculpt her physique in quite a short period of time.
In November of 2007, she won her first competition, the WNSO FAME North American Championships 2007, placing 1st in the Fitness Model category and 2nd in the Bikini Model division. In 2008, she won two pro cards with FAME, in the Bikini and Fitness Model divisions, by winning two other shows in Montreal and Toronto. In November of that same year, she had her NPC Figure debut and took home the overall regional title.
Luciana has been featured in BSN® print ads in some of the top magazines in the industry, including Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers, and Planet Muscle, and takes great pride in representing the top nutritional supplement company in the industry. Her future plans include working on her personal trainer certificate, so she can help and motivate others to achieve their goals regarding their body and self-esteem.
