NSF International Dietary Supplement GMP and GMP for Sport™ Registrations
BSN® has successfully completed a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) distribution facility audit from NSF International, an independent organization that certifies products and creates standards for dietary supplements, food, water and consumer goods in an effort to minimize health risks and protect the public and the environment. GMPs for the current NSF International Dietary Supplements Registration Program are included in NSF International American National Standard 173, the only American National Standard for Dietary Supplements.
In addition, BSN® has completed the GMP for Sport™ registration, which confirms the BSN® distribution facility is free of banned substances contamination. This is an important designation that serves to bolster consumer confidence in the companies that earn it and help consumers make educated decisions about the supplements they take.
Good Manufacturing Practices are standards outlined by the Food and Drug Administration that address all aspects of dietary supplement production, from raw ingredient sourcing to final product release, as well as employee training and facility and equipment maintenance. Ongoing audits are performed in order to ensure continued compliance with the regulations. Companies who earn this designation have displayed a clear and consistent emphasis on quality throughout the manufacturing process.
